The wait was over, the Mercedes-AMG GT 4 Doors was finally unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show after a year of presentation of the original Mercedes-GT GT Concept and a multitude of prototype images under test. In addition, it brings with it a number of important innovations, such as the three different versions, one of them hybrid, and up to 630 horsepower in the most powerful version. Although it is considered the four-door version of the Mercedes-AMG GT, the reality is that it follows its own version scheme, regardless of what the coupe offers. In addition, it adopts new names never seen before in the brand thanks to the three different versions: the hybrid GT 53 4MATIC +, the GT 63 4MATIC + and the more powerful GT 63 S 4MATIC +. This allows you to differentiate yourself from the coupe and roadster, which are offered in versions GT, GT S, GT C and GT R, as the most powerful option.

Therefore, the new Mercedes-AMG GT 4 Portas is a combination of the most standard models of the AMG and the Mercedes-AMG GT. In the same way, the brand has already guaranteed a few weeks ago that there will not be a version 63 of the new Mercedes-Benz CLS, the Mercedes-AMG CLS 53 version being the most powerful of the model, which was unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show in January. In terms of its design, from the Panamericana grill, which was revealed in the restyling suffered last year by the Mercedes-AMG GT, until the fall of the coupe-type roof, the new four-door GT is a perfect blend of sportiness and practicality. It shows elegance, with smooth lines at the rear, but with a front bumper clearly marked by the air intakes at each end. In addition, it offers an active or fixed airfoil depending on the version. The interior conserves the central console in fall with the switches in the same arrangement as the eight cylinders of its engine, a sports steering wheel and bucket type seats. However, it uses the new Mercedes-Benz E Class and its larger brother, the Mercedes-Benz S Class, to integrate the 12.3-inch dual-screen instrument panel and multimedia system. Carbon fiber, leather and Alcantara upholstery, contrast stitching and a four- or five-seat configuration, depending on the version, are some of its most outstanding attributes weatherproof car covers.

The line of the Mercedes-AMG GT 4 Doors will be composed by three different versions. Starting with the lower power, the hybrid version comes with a 48-volt system, which also features the aforementioned CLS 53 and the Mercedes-AMG E 53 Coupe and Cabrio, both new in Detroit. This version combines a supercharged, 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with an electric motor for a combined horsepower of 435 hp. The electric motor delivers 21 hp and 250 Nm of torque, while the internal combustion unit uses an electric turbocharger that reduces the known ‘lag’ of supercharged engines. In short, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 285 km / h. One step up the line is the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC +, which already uses the famous 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine to deliver a power of 585 hp and a torque of 800 Nm, the same numbers offered by the powerful Mercedes-AMG GT R and the same engine that was installed on the Mercedes-AMG G 63, also a novelty in Geneva. It reaches 100 km / h in 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 310 km / h. Finally, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC + is the option for those who want maximum performance in a four-door sports car. Based on the 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, it raises its performance to frontiers never before experienced by that propeller, ie, 630 hp of power and 900 Nm of torque, enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 3 , 2 seconds and reach a top speed of 315 km / h.

The two V8 versions of the Mercedes-AMG GT 4 Doors are equipped with AMG Cylinder Management technology that deactivates a cylinder bed when driving at low engine speeds and thus reduces fuel consumption and emissions. The nine-speed MCT automatic transmission and the multi-chamber pneumatic suspension are also common in both versions, while the GT 63 S 4MATIC + version comes standard with active engine brackets which are optional in the GT 63 4MATIC + version. Finally, the GT 53 4MATIC + version has a nine-speed TCT transmission and an adaptive suspension, while the rear directional axle is standard on versions 63 and an extra on the 53. All models of the Mercedes-AMG GT 4 Portas range are equipped with an AMG Performance 4MATIC + total traction system that continuously calculates the best torque distribution between the axles. The Drift driving mode is standard on the GT 63 S, while the other models can be fitted as an option. The AMG GT’s 4-door version will arrive at the end of the European summer for dealers and will be a tough rival for the Porsche Panamera Turbo, the BMW M6 Gran Coupe and the Audi RS7 Sportback.

2019 – MERCEDES-BENZ A CLASS L SPORT SEDAN

The latest Geneva Motor Show 2018 marked the launch of the new generation of the Mercedes-Benz A Class, which we were able to get acquainted with in its traditional hatchback format. But now, the 2018 Beijing Motor Show has been the event chosen by the German brand for the official debut of the sedan body, which for the Chinese market will have the name Mercedes-Benz A Class L Sport Sedan, as it is an extended platform version . As for its exterior styling, the new A Class L Sport Sedan 2019 features the styling features that are present in the latest releases from the German manufacturer, with a front part almost equal to the five-door version. The fastback-style design gives this A-Class sedan a very dynamic look, which is accentuated by its short bumps and some exterior details such as its alloy wheels up to 19 inches that can manifest its sporty character.

This version has a wheelbase that has been extended by 60 millimeters in relation to the five-door model, which has provided improvements in the available rear seats, which now enjoy more space, as well as a trunk with 420 liters capacity. On the other hand, the interior presents without major modifications in relation to the model of two volumes, only some trimmings that are specific for the Chinese market. In the mechanical part, the offer of the new Mercedes-Benz A Class L Sport Sedan revolves around the 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine that is offered in two versions, the first with 136 hp and another with higher power developing 163 hp, in combination with a seven-speed dual-clutch DCT automatic transmission. Subsequently the offer will be enriched with a 4-cylinder engine with 2.0 liters, producing 190 hp of power, being the alternative of greater performance.
